Recopilació, descripció estructural i disseny gràfic d'estructures metàl·liques per a l'elaboració de material docent multimèdia

L’objectiu d’aquest document és recopilar, adaptar i desenvolupar la informació necessària per a la futura elaboració d’un llibre docent de problemes d’estructura metàl·lica a càrrec del Departament de Resistència de Materials i Estructures a l’Enginyeria. Dita publicació presentarà diferents situacions estructurals presents en obres reals recentment construïdes. A més a més, la publicació contarà amb un suport multimèdia que permetrà visualitzar cada una d’aquestes obres i els seus detalls constructius en un model 3D creat amb el software TeklaStructures. A partir d’això, la tasca a desenvolupar en el projecte és triple: cercar construccions reals que s’adaptin a les situacions estructurals que es volen estudiar, fer una anàlisi tècnica i qualitativa de cada cas i per últim preparar el suport multimèdia en format CD que incorporarà la futura publicació. Cal tenir en compte que el càlcul estructural i d’unions queda fora de l’abast d’aquest document. Aquest aspecte es durà a terme per part del Departament en el moment d’elaborar la publicació. La metodologia de procés del projecte es divideix en dues etapes clarament diferenciades. La primera és la recopilació d’informació. S’ha fet una recerca d’obres reals que han estat modelades amb el software TeklaStructures i s’adapten a les diferents situacions estructurals que es voldran presentar al llibre. Aquesta recerca es realitza en tallers metàl·lics que treballen amb l’esmentat software. Un cop seleccionades les obres d’estudi, la recerca continua per les enginyeries o arquitectures encarregades del càlcul de cada una d’elles. La informació obtinguda en aquest pas es bàsicament de càlcul estructural i condicions de càrrega. Per tant, és una informació que queda fora d’aquest document però molt útil pel Departament en la futura elaboració del llibre de problemes. La segona etapa es l’adaptació i desenvolupament de cada cas. S’han modificat i adaptat tots els models 3D per tal que aparegui únicament l’esquelet metàl·lic objecte d’estudi en cada obra. S’han eliminat els elements superflus a l’hora que s’han completat models inacabats. També es realitza una anàlisi tècnica estructural de cada cas. Aquesta anàlisi comprèn una descripció general de l’estructura, i estudia els diferents dissenys resolutius adoptats segons aspectes com la distribució d’esforços, els elements estructurals utilitzats, tècniques de construcció i aspectes singulars i significatius en cas d’haver-n’hi. Per últim, es prepara el suport multimèdia que incorporarà la futura publicació. Aquest inclou, per a cada obra, models en 3D de l’obra completa així com detalls constructius. També inclou fotografies realitzades durant la construcció de les diferents obres i vídeos de diferents processos de tall, foradat, imprimació i pintat i granallat de peces metàl·liques

KomBInoS - Modellgetriebene Entwicklung von multimodalen Dialogschnittstellen für Smart Services

Diese Arbeit ist angesiedelt im Kontext der drei Forschungsgebiete Smart Service Welt, Modellgetriebene Softwareentwicklung und Intelligente Benutzerschnittstellen. Das Ziel der Arbeit war die Entwicklung eines ganzheitlichen Ansatzes zur effizienten Erstellung von multimodalen Dialogschnittstellen für Smart Services. Um dieses Ziel zu erreichen, wurde mit KomBInoS ein umfassendes Rahmenwerk zur modellgetriebenen Erstellung solcher Benutzerschnittstellen entwickelt. Das Rahmenwerk besteht aus: (1) einer Metamodell-Architektur, welche sowohl eine modellgetriebene Entwicklung als auch die Komposition von multimodalen Dialogschnittstellen für Smart Services erlaubt, (2) einem methodischen Vorgehen, welches aus aufeinander abgestimmten Modelltransformationen, möglichen Kompositionsschritten und manuellen Entwicklungstätigkeiten besteht, sowie (3) einer integrierten Werkzeugkette als Implementierung der Methode. Es wurde außerdem eine cloud-fähige Laufzeitumgebung zur mobilen Nutzung der so erstellten Benutzerschnittstellen entwickelt. Als Proof-of-Concept werden acht Beispielanwendungen und Demonstratoren aus fünf Forschungsprojekten vorgestellt. Zusätzlich zur Smart Service Welt fand und findet KomBInoS auch Anwendung im Bereich der Industrie 4.0.This work is located in the context of the three research areas Smart Service World, Model-Driven Software Development and Intelligent User Interfaces. The aim of the work was to develop a holistic approach for the efficient creation of multimodal dialogue interfaces for Smart Services. To achieve this goal, KomBInoS was developed as a comprehensive framework for the model-driven creation of such user interfaces. The framework consists of: (1) a metamodel architecture that allows both model-driven development and the composition of multimodal dialogue interfaces for Smart Services, (2) a methodical approach consisting of coordinated model transformations, possible compositional steps and manual development activities, as well as (3) an integrated tool chain as an implementation of the method. Furthermore, a cloud-enabled runtime environment was developed for mobile use of the user interfaces created in this way. As proof-of-concept, eight sample applications and demonstrators from five research projects will be presented. In addition to the Smart Service Welt, KomBInoS was and is also used in the field of industry 4.0

Delirium en cuidados paliativos oncológicos: revisión

We review some aspects related with the physiopathology, epidemiology, diagnosis and management of delirium, centred in patients with advanced and terminal cancer. It is offered a comprehensive and practical overview of this clinical situation frequently under diagnosticated, specially in the case of patients with far-advanced cancer, in whom it is specially frequent and reversible quite often out the last days of life. We emphasize an interdisplinary approach including family as key in diagnosis and treatment. Pharmacological treatment is up dated and some future line of work are mentioned

Sector level cost of equity in African financial markets

This paper assesses the effectiveness of Liu (2006) metrics in measuring illiquidity within a multifactor CAPM pricing model. Costs of equity are estimated using this model for the major sectors within Africa’s larger equity markets: Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, Zambia, Botswana and South Africa. In all countries, the cost of equity is found to be highest in the financial sector and lowest in the blue chip stocks of Tunisia, Morocco, Namibia and South Africa. At an aggregate level, Nigeria and Zambia have the highest cost of capital

Optimising a Biogas and Photovoltaic Hybrid System for Sustainable Power Supply in Rural Areas

[EN] This paper proposes a method for evaluating the optimal configuration of a hybrid system (biomass power plant and photovoltaic plant), which is connected to the electrical grid, to achieve minimum energy costs. The study is applied to a small ruralmunicipality in the Valencian Community, Spain, as an energy community. The approach takes into account the daily energy demand variation and price curves for energy that are either imported or exported to the grid. The optimal configuration is determined by the highest internal rate of return (IRR) over a 12-year period while providing a 20% discount in electricity prices for the energy community. The approach is extrapolated to an annual period using the statistical data of sunny and cloudy days, considering 23.8% of the year as cloudy. The methodology provides a general procedure for hybridising both plants and the grid to meet the energy needs of a small rural population. In the analysed case, an optimal combination of 140 kW of rated power from the biogas generator was found, which is lower than the maximum demand of 366 kW and 80 kW installed power in the photovoltaic plant, resulting in an IRR of 6.13% over 12 years.
